Mark Bankin, RYT 500 (Yoga Alliance), is a yoga teacher, choreographer, and dance diagram specialist based in New York City. He teaches both advanced and adaptive applications of yoga, with experience supporting students living with neurological and long-term health conditions, and integrates principles from the Feldenkrais Method, depth psychology, somatic theory. From 2018 to 2022, he developed an award-winning movement-notation archive of endangered Tibetan Gorshay dances in collaboration with the Tibetan diaspora and currently works as a movement notator for Core of Culture’s Bhutanese Dance Archive. He has lived at the Integral Yoga Ashram, taught on the faculty for Rainbowlight Yoga Teacher Training School in France, and volunteered teaching dance at Saint Ann’s Psychiatric Hospital. A member of the International Council of Kinetography Laban (ICKL), he studied at the Folkwang School with Tanztheater Wuppertal Pina Bausch and as a Fulbright Scholar at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Paris. He has performed with Butoh masters Yoshito Ohno, Tetsuro Fukuhara, and Gekidan Kaitaisha.
